Vladimir Vysotsky (1938-1980) is one of the founders of the bard music genre, poet, dramatic performe. He was born and grown up in Moscow. He graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School, played in Moscow theaters, was the leading artist of the Taganka Theater. He starred in 29 films.

The artistic legacy of Vladimir Vysotsky includes songs written for performances and movies, more than 600 songs performed to public. An extraordinary poetic talent and musicality together with colossal temperament and natural democratism were combined in his songs performance. The Vysotsky’s songs intonational and genre palette is extremely diverse: satirical colors (Dialogue at the TV, Dear Transmission) and tragic revelations (Capricious Horses, Wolf Hunt, Ice Down Below, Ice Up Above).

In the main part of the exposition there are numerous audio recordings of Vysotsky’s songs. The records of the series At the Vladimir Vysotsky’s concerts, as well records and CDs with songs of the bard could attract interest. The exhibition gives an opportunity to hear both the voice of Vladimir Vysotsky himself, and his songs performed by Marina Vlady, Gregory Leps and others. The Vysotsky’s verses performed by L. Derkach are presented in the audiobook Nerve.

The exhibition visitors can get acquainted with the Vysotsky’s songs music sheets, among them: To the top, He Did Not Return From Battle, I Do Not Like, Parody of a Bad Detective Story, I Was Carrying My Misfortune, etc.

Vysotsky’s collection of poems and songs Save Our Souls, I Don’t Believe in Fate, Of Course, I’ll Be Back, and 130 Songs for The Cinema, etc. complete the collection.

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).
