From 14 December, 2017, to 23 January, 2018, the thematic exhibition “The New Year’s Serpentine” runs in the circular corridor (2nd floor ).
The New Year is a very particular holiday, the time of miracles and belief in fairytales. The New Year’s holidays are full of wonders and joy, the winter fun and gifts, cozy evenings with the family and with friends. On the New Year’s Eve they sum up and see off the outgoing year with all its joys and sorrows. In different countries, Christmas and the New Year’s night are considered magical.
The bright and colorful book exposition tells about the history of the holidays, Christmas and the New Year traditions, folk sayings and beliefs.
The central part of the exposition is modern editions about Christmas celebrations in Belarus, Russia, France, Germany, Canada and other countries.
Children’s fiction about Christmas and the New Year are also on display.
Having visited the exhibition you will learn how to decorate your apartment, to present original gifts to your friends and family, and to make your own masks, souvenirs and Christmas decorations.
