Electronic Library Development Department

Activities

The activities of the department are aimed at:

  • development of the electronic library of the National Library of Belarus;
  • ensuring the safety of the library documents;
  • development of the most complete collection of national documents in electronic form.

Functions of the Department:

  • providing quick access to electronic library documents;
  • development of electronic thematic and specific collections as part of the electronic library;
  • generation of documents in electronic form in storage and presentation formats in the electronic library;
  • cooperation with domestic and foreign organizations and institutions for the electronic library development;
  • organizational and methodological support of the electronic library.

Services

The department offers the services as follow:

  • digitization and copying of audio recordings from the library collections: cassette tapes, vinyl disks, CDs, and saving data to user CD or flash card;
  • scanning of printed publications and saving data to user CD or flash card;
  • scanning of card catalogs of libraries, archives and other organizations for the needs of Retroconversion (creation of image-catalogs, digitization), and saving data to user CD or flash card.
