"The Best Books of Belarus": Exhibition According to the Results of the 58th National Competition "The Art of the Book"

From February 15 to April 30 in the library (3rd floor, circular corridor) an exhibition dedicated to the results of the 58th National Competition "The Art of the Book" is held.

40 publishers with 158 publications took part in this competition. Less than half of them entered the short-list, from which the competent jury selected the winners in 14 nominations: "Triumph", "Lit-format", "In the mirror of time", "Art-book", "Eureka", "For contribution to preservation of spiritual heritage", "Golden Tablets", "We grow with the book", "Photolook", "The textbook of our time", "Spirituality", "Commonwealth", "Mastery", as well as a special nomination in 2018 "Paths of the native region" dedicated to the Year of the Native Land.

According to the results of publishing in 2018, the highest book award of Belarus was marked by the work of RUE Belkartografia of the State Property Committee: the 4-volume big atlas of Belarus' history, the first most complete edition reflecting the historical past of our country.

The National Library of Belarus won the nomination "For the Contribution to the Preservation of Spiritual Heritage" and received a special diploma and a sign "Small Golden Folio" for facsimile reproduction of the first book in the world called "Primer".

Vyacheslav Volynets was recognized as the best book illustrator for the design of the book "Kazkі dlya Garez". The best photographer is Mikhail Romanyuk for his contribution to the Belarusian national photo-culture, the best designer of the book is Mikhail Anempodistov for the design of the publication "Koler Belarusi". The jury highly appreciated the author's concept, text, artistic and graphic design of this album-study of Belarus through the history of colors.

The National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Nesvizh", the authors of the project idea and its sponsors received special diplomas of the competition for the preparation of a series of books on Nesvizh, the palace and park ensemble.
