A virtual scientific round table dedicated to bibliological research in France will take place on October 23. The leading expert of the event will be Olga Shutova, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Head of the Laboratory of Francysk Skaryna Studies and Valorization of Research on the History of Culture of Belarus (Paris, France).

Skaryna studies, a study of the legacy of Francysk Skaryna, has over 6,000 publications, but scholarly efforts are often divided by geographic, disciplinary boundaries and stereotypes. The Laboratory of Francysk Skaryna Studies provides a unique platform for the publication and coordination of research, brings together scientists interested in the life and work of Francysk Skaryna and Belarusian research in general, with the aim of exchanging ideas, projects and achievements.

At the round table session Olga Shutova will present the report "Intellectual Landscape of Skaryna's Bible: Context, Personalities, Themes and Influences". The participants of the round table will also learn about the concept and current activities of the Laboratory of Francysk Skaryna Studies, discuss problematic issues in the development of bibliology and promising joint projects. The format of the event provides for discussion, exchange of views and experience.

The meeting will take place at the National Library of Belarus. However, taking into account the epidemiological situation, a live broadcast of the roundtable is provided on the YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/_hhqPdhypsI. During the broadcast, it will be possible not only to follow the discussion in real-time but also to ask questions and comment on the speeches.

We invite researchers, library specialists and all those who are not indifferent to our past, interested in studying the history of ideas and book traditions of Belarus, to participate.

Date: October 23rd.

Beginning: 11.00.
