The Atrium (second floor) hosted the grand opening of the exhibition project "Diomonds of the Centary – from the Library’s Collection" devoted to the 100th years anniversary of the National Library of Belarus and to the Year of Historical Memory on June 16th.
The National Library of Belarus celebrates its 100th years anniversary in 2022. The lists of memorable dates of UNESCO added this milestone event. The history of the National Library of Belarus can not be separated from the history of Belarus. With its aim to serve to the nation, along with the country the Library has suffused difficult times, grand victories and outstanding success. During this period it has gathered the wealthiest collection consisting today of more than 10 million documents.
During the date of our century history, at the exhibition project you will have an opportunity to see through the bright and significant samples of a national document and a worldwide book publishing: literature best sellers; musical compositions; movies, graphics and poster art created – created 1922-2022. Diverse and valuable gathering of different documents distributed in related collections which as if the planes of a crystal underline the unique feature of the National’s Library collection.
Corresponding books, magazines and newspapers, typing machines, leather brief cases and reader’s tickets of the famous Belarussian writers and scientists passes the environment of the past century in the reading rooms. The flavor of the Exposition will be the collection of table lamps of the 20th century from the funds of the Sate Museum of the History of Belarussian Literature, Literature Museum of Maksim Bahdanovych and Literature Museum of Petrus Brovka.
The admission is by presenting a reader’s ticket or a ticket of social and cultural center.
The opening hours of the Exhibition correspond to the opening hours of the Library.
The Exhibition will be open until 31 January 2023.
The closing date of the Exhibition can be changed.
