On June 15th, the exhibition "Contemporary Art of Pakistan" will be opened in the Atrium Gallery (3rd floor) as part of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The exhibition introduces the original culture, unique heritage, and ancient traditions of the eastern country. Pakistan is a multi-ethnic, multicultural and multilingual country. The art of Pakistan is a complex interweaving of original cultures, traditions and customs of dozens of ethnic groups inhabiting the country; thousand-years history and bold modern experiments.
The exhibition features works by prominent Pakistani artists Aisha Kamal, Narin Sajid, Syed Sadekwain, photographs by the famous photographer Hamid Hussain, household items: wooden boxes, cutlery, napkins, decorative onyx ornaments, traditional clothing, sculptures, etc.
The abundance of colors, bright embroidery, colorful carpets and other exhibits allow you to plunge into the depths of centuries, get acquainted with various cultural trends, notice characteristic features and expressive features, understand the meaning of symbols, different systems of worldview reflected in traditional and author's works.
"Contemporary Art of Pakistan" combines the present day of the country and its rich past, contributes to the development and dissemination of the best traditions and achievements of modern fine art in Pakistan.
The exhibition will run until July 6th, 2022.
