The Color of Silence art exhibition opened in the library, on September 24. The paintings are performed by pupils of the Zhdanovichi special boarding school.

First deputy director of the National Library of Belarus Elena Dolgopolova congratulated those present on the opening of the exhibition noting that such projects gave children with hearing impairments the opportunity to reach their potential and get a creative profession.

The opening speech was given by Inna Volchek, director of the Zhdanovichi special boarding school, and Irina Bakhar, teacher, head of the Kraski art studio.

Then, pupils of the boarding school took the stage to perform some popular songs in sign language. The audience highly appreciated the colorful performance.

On the exhibition opening day, the children enjoyed examining each other’s paintings, having the opportunity to see their works on display and evaluate the public’s reaction. The parents, teachers, friends and classmates of the young artists came to support them.

The original paintings evoke special feelings in the viewer. The young artists understand the world in their own way and have a subtle visual perception, “feeling” the sounds. The works depict birds, cats, horses, deer and other animals. Here you can see boats, and bicycles, and everything that can excite the child.

The exposition is open until February 1, 2020, in the mobile gallery (third floor, circular corridor).
The closing date can be changed.

The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the library’s opening hours.
Admission is by library card or by ticket of the library's social and cultural center. Information and tickets may be obtained at the registration desk.
