On April 20th at the gallery “Rakurs” of the National Library of Belarus took place the opening ceremony of the ІІІ International graphic exhibition “Art-Line”.
For the third time, the Art-Line has gathered works by talented artists in the Library’s galleries so that the audience can familiarize with a rich palette of the modern graphic art. This year artists from Spain, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Slovenia present their works at the exhibition.
Fyodor Yastreb, the Chairman of the International Guild of Painters and Head of the Gallery and Exhibition Department, and Lyudmila Kiryukhina, the Deputy Director for Research and PR of the National Library of Belarus opened the event. Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Artists, graphic artist Gregory Sitnitsa, Ukrainian graphic artist Galina Badyakova, and Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, honored artist of the BSSR, people’s artist of Belarus Georgy Poplavsky welcomed the guests. Guests of honor –representatives of the diplomatic corps of the countries accredited in the Republic of Belarus took part in the event.
Within the framework of the exhibition a contest of the works of graphic art was held. Its results were reviewed by the authoritative international jury – artists and art critics from Russia, Belarus, Spain and Austria. Winners of the contest received special diplomas, diplomas of the 1st and the 2nd degree, and the Art-Line Grand Prix. The award ceremony was held by Jury Chairman Georgy Poplavsky and Chairman of the International Guild of Painters Fyodor Yastreb.
Pupils of the children’s studio of design and tailoring “Modnitsa” headed by Elena Gonchar, and participants of the dance studio “Orion” headed by Ruslana Luchina of the palace of Youth and Pupils of the Zavodskoy District of Minsk presented their mastery and creative work. Violinist Anna Krasnaya, the student of the Republican Gymnasium-College of the Belarusian Academy of Music and laureate of international contests, performed musical compositions.
The graphic exhibition “Art-Line” located in the galleries “Rakurs”, “Labyrinth” and “Atrium” of the National Library of Belarus is open till June 11th, 2010.
