On April 16th at the National Library of Belarus took place the opening of the art exhibition «The gallery of heroes of the liberation movement of Venezuela”.


The exhibition is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the liberation movement for the independence of Venezuela.

Portraits of heroes and images of the major battles of the fifteen-year war of 1810–1825 will acquaint Belarusian community with the history of the country which many long years struggled for sovereignty and independence, peace and harmony.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivar Republic to the Republic of Belarus Américo Dias Nunes and Acting Director of the National Library of Belarus for Research and PR Lyudmila Kiryukhina welcomed the guests.

At the event the audience enjoyed musical compositions performed by Venezuelan guitarist Daniel Marchan.

The exhibition is open till May 14th at the gallery “Panorama” (on the 22nd floor). Entrance to the Observation platform is paid.

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
