On June 6, an exhibition “Art-Minsk-2019” was opened at the library as part of the Art-Minsk-2019 international art festival.

The opening session began with the welcoming speech by Elena Dolgopolova, first deputy director of the National Library of Belarus, Alexander Zinkevich, Belarusian graphic artist, director of the Republican Art Gallery (Palace of Art) took part in the opening ceremony and Leonid Khobotov, Deputy Chairman of the ''Belarusian Union of Artists'' public association.

A rich exposition in the National Library offers visitors the wealth of techniques, genres and styles in the works of talented artists of different generations.

The main feature of “Art-Minsk-2019” is the discovery of new names. At the same time, there are works by such famous authors as Alesya Skorobogataya, Yulia Matsura, Vasily Peshkun, Konstantin Vashchenko, Anatoly Otchik, Sergey Pisarenko, Sergey Davidovich, Alexander Zimenko, Ekaterina Sumareva and Darya Buneeva.

The exhibition provides an opportunity to feel the pulse of creative life, the dynamics and directions of development of the visual arts. It highlights the rich exposure and the fact that it presents the works by Belarusian painters.

The festival was organized by the “New Cultural Initiative” Center for Fine and Media Art and the Republican Art Gallery of the Belarusian Union of Artists (Palace of Art) with the support of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Belgazprombank and Gazprom Transgaz Belarus.

You can visit the exposition in the Panorama Gallery (22nd floor) until August 19, 2019.

The exhibits will change during the exhibition.

"Soldier's Fate": on the 100th anniversary of Vasil Bykov and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the People's writer of Belarus, publicist and screenwriter Vasil Vladimirovich Bykov.
On this occasion, the National Library has prepared an anniversary exhibition "Soldier's fate", which highlights the great influence on the work of the Belarusian writer of his participation in the Great Patriotic War.
