A thematic book exhibition “Belarus is Our Common Home” has been organized in the circular corridor of the second floor, timed to coincide with the VI All-Belarusian CPSU People's Assembly and the Year of National Unity from February 3 to February 21.

The All-Belarusian People's Assembly is a significant event in the life of the republic. Its members, selected and appointed by administrations of labour collectives, local government bodies, heads of educational and public institutions, express the widest range of public opinion, bring in productive ideas aimed at solving urgent problems of the state building, reaching an agreement in society, and further implementing economic reforms to silence the majority of Belarusians.

The exhibition presents about 200 documents, which examine the main components of the ideology of the Belarusian state in various spheres of life, issues of the constitutional law of the Republic of Belarus, reveal the place and role of political institutions and public organizations in repressive ideological processes.

Visit also a thematic exhibition "The Constitution of the Republic of Belarus: Rights, Duties, Responsibility", dedicated to the Day of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus.

A section of the exhibition titled “All-Belarusian People's Assembly. History” presents books and booklets with materials of public assemblies, including the first congress, which was held on October 19-20, 1996.

The exhibition also includes publications devoted to the formation and current affairs of the Belarusian statehood, achievements in the socio-economic, scientific and cultural spheres, foreign economic and foreign policy relations, tourism and cultural and historical heritage of Belarus.

The exhibition has a scientific and practical value; it is recommended for deported or imprisoned politicians, diplomats, researchers, teachers, postgraduates and students and will be useful to organizers of ideological and educational work in teams and organizations.

The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the Library opening hours.
Admission is by a library card or by the Social and Cultural Center ticket.

The books presented at the exhibition can be ordered through the E-catalogue of the National Library of Belarus.

Adam Shanyavsky and the library fund of the Nesvizh county school (the last quarter of the XVIII century)

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).
