From March 23rd to April 11th at the Book Museum of the National Library of Belarus is open a book exhibition “Christ has arisen!”.


The collection of manuscripts and old printed publications of the National Library of Belarus houses books with engravings, liturgies and sermons dedicated to Christ’s Resurrection.

The most interesting books are displayed at the Easter exhibition "Christ has arisen!”.

There are manuscripts of the XIX – early XX cc. “Collection of Eastern Services with Motets”, “Collection of Services for the Lord’s Holidays”, and “Irmologiy” in old music scores, and also the “Chasoslov” (Suprasl, 1786), the old printed book published in Belarus.

Besides, there are books by Ukrainian printing-houses including Kievo Pecherskaya Lavra: the collection of sermons “The key of Understanding” by Ioannikiy Galiatovsky (1660), “Triod Tsvetnaya” (1631), “The Edifying Gospel” (1637), “The Prayer Book” (1821), and “Tipikon”.

The Russian books – The Gospel published in 1701 in Moscow and the modern illustrated edition of the Gospel – will catch visitors’ attention as well.

Also there is “The Roman Missal”, the West-European book published in the XVIII c. by Plantin-Moretus’ printing-house.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.

This year marks the 205th anniversary of the birth of the world-famous composer, our famous countryman Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872). By this date, the National Library of Belarus is replenishing with new materials the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created in 2019.

The Names of Heroes Are Immortal

The 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War are among the main events of 2024 and 2025. Numerous patriotic and cultural and educational events, scientific conferences, exhibitions, publishing projects, electronic resources and much more will be dedicated to these anniversaries for two years.
