On 14 November, a creative class "A little spider" took place in the Children's Room of the National Library of Belarus.


By using natural materials (chestnuts, heads of acorns, leaves of trees), children created a vivid compositions with an interesting plot. Funny little spider "settled" on the openwork silk spider lines and yellow autumn leaves.

During the class the children together solved riddles about insects and played outdoor games. They recollected many tales where one of the heroes was a spider and watched with interest the cartoon "Buzzy-Wuzzy Busy Fly" on the big screen.

Document Restoration: Conservatism and Innovation – 2024

On April 8-12 the VII International Scientific and Practical Seminar "Document Restoration: Conservatism and Innovation - 2024" was held at the Russian State Library. This is the largest professional forum, the main task of which is to exchange experience and improve the skills of restorers and curators of museum, library and archival collections from different countries.

Connoisseur of Belarusian Antiquities

April 18, 2024 marks the 210th anniversary of the birth of Yevstafiy Tyshkevich, a famous archaeologist, historian, ethnographer, local historian and museologist. His research has raised whole layers of the historical past, he was one of the first Belarusian authors of local lore. To mark the anniversary of the scientist, an exhibition "Connoisseur of Belarusian Antiquities" has been organized in the Book Museum of the National Library of Belarus.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
