On 14 June at 4 p.m., a presentation of Alyes Korlyukevich’s book “And I Shall Give Vent to the Dreams: The Literary Map of Pukhovichy District” takes place at the gallery “Labyrinth”.


The event is arranged by the publishing house “P. Brovka Belarusian Encyclopedia” and the National Library of Belarus. The edition is a literary regional study of one of Minsk districts – Pukhovichy District.

The book is about Belarusian poets, writers and dramatists А. Еlsky, М. Charot, Y. Kolas, А. Volny, P. Glebka, М. Posledovich, P. Runyets, А. Bachilo, G. Klevko, Т. Bondar, R. Paparat and others. Most of them were born in Pukhovichy District, some were frequent visitors to this lands, writing their works on the riverbanks of Svisloch, in scenic forest villages Berezyanka, Glushka, Podberezhye... Belarusian writers Yakub Kolas, Yanka Mavr, Georgi Popov and others are among those who had fallen in love with this place.

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).

Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
