On October 21, within the framework of the 8th International Congress "The Library as a Phenomenon of Culture", a meeting of the Belarusian Council of Libraries for Information Interaction was held.

The meeting was chaired by Ms Aksana Knizhnikava, Director General of the National Library of Belarus. Heads of the national scientific and regional libraries, as well as libraries of the leading institutions of higher education attended the meeting.

The members of the Council discussed a number of issues related to the implementation of joint projects: corporate subscription to licensed electronic information resources through the Virtual Reading room of the National Library of Belarus, cooperation between the libraries of Belarus on the digitization of collections, the use of practice-oriented publications of the National Library in methodological support of the libraries.

A literary and visual exhibition "Looking for Joy" dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the birth of the Russian painter and representative of Russian impressionism Konstantin Korovin (1861–1939) is on show in the Fine Arts Reading Room (room 306) from December 3 to January 10.
