On December 15, the National Library of Belarus hosted the Literary Salon: Contemporary Russian Literature for Children and Adolescents, which was held in the format of a teleconference with the Library of Foreign Literature named after M.I. Rudomino with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
The participants of the event talked with writers, laureates of Russian national awards in the field of literature, and experts of the Library for Foreign Literature and asked them questions.
Students of the Minsk City Teachers' College, Mr Alies Susha, Deputy Director General of the National Library of Belarus, Ms Natalia Volkova, children's writer, poet, teacher, Ms Nina Dashevskaya writer, musician, author of books for children and teenagers took part in the meeting.
The meeting with Ms Natalia Volkova and Ms Nina Dashevskaya took place in the atmosphere of lively communication and mutual interest.
The authors answered questions about what motivated them to write for children, how long they've been writing, techniques and methods of presenting modern children's and young people's literature, and their opinions on their favourite books.
The participants completed a creative assignment of the writers. The students of the college did a great job. Literary experts listened to their stories with great interest, noting the irony and originality of the stories.
The event turned out to be warm and informative.
The meeting was led by Mr Daniil Romanov, philologist, journalist, director and producer and Ms Maria Ponomarenko, methodologist, expert at the Centre for Children's Books and Children's Programmes at the Library of Foreign Literature.
