On December 13, the library hosted "In Love with the Homeland" creative meeting, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Radim Goretsky.
The organizers are the National Library of Belarus and the Belarusian Cultural Foundation (BFC) Public Association. The creative meeting is part of the project "My Clan is my Homeland".
The event was kept by the writer, journalist, state and public figure, the deputy chairman of the BFC Anatoly Butevich.
Tadeusz Struzhetsky, Chairman of the BFC, Chairman of the of "Tavarystva belaruskaj movy imja Frantsishka Skaryny" Public Association , editor-in-chief of the Krayaznauchaya newspaper Vladimir Gilep, artist, poet, chairman of the Belarusian Union of Artists Rygor Sitnitsa and other representatives of creative intelligentsia, scientists and journalists arrived to congratulate the hero of the anniversary.
Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Radim Goretsky presented one of his latest books to the National Library of Belarus – "Apantana Butkaushchynai: Zhytstsovy melanzh-2" with an autograph.
First Deputy Director of the National Library of Belarus Elena Dolgopolova thanked the hero of the day for the book, congratulated him on the milestone birthday and wished him further creative success in literary activities.
At the creative meeting Radim Goretsky shared the story of his family, spoke about the scientific and literary activities, about "Garetskie reading" and his famous uncle Maxim Goretsky.
At the end of the event, Anatoly Butevich read out written congratulations and telegrams for the anniversary of the academician.
The "In Love with the Homeland" creative meeting was accompanied by musical performance by the People’s Artist of Belarus Tatiana Marchel.
