On December 4-7, 2007 in National Library of Belarus takes place an international conference on interlibrary loan and document delivery “East-West in the century of information and telecommunication technologies”.
The conference is organized by the CIS Executive committee, member states of the CIS Section of interlibrary loan, Ministry of culture of the Republic of Belarus, Federal agency of culture and cinematography of Russian Federation, National Library of Belarus, and Russian State Library.
About 100 librarians from 7 countries participate in the conference.
At the conference are discussed the following issues: use of library resources, providing of the access to information and knowledge, implementation of new technologies in user service, development and use of electronic resources and electronic publications for interlibrary loan and delivery of materials, copyright, and legislation in the field of interlibrary loan and delivery of materials.
The opening of the conference took place on December 4 at 10.00.
