The National Library of Belarus and the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts carried out joint events on 15 and 16 October.
Students of the university took part in events focused on the life and work of Belarusian bibliographer and literary critic Eugene Khlebtsevich. In the hall of manuscripts, rare and early-printed books, head of section Tatyana Zakharova conducted a tour to the exhibition dedicated to Eugene Khlebtsevich’s 135th anniversary. The students became acquainted with unique photographs, manuscripts, personal (family) and artistic documents, as well as critical essays and scientific papers.
The students had the opportunity to explore additional materials about the life and work of the famous library scientist. Using the electronic catalog, they got acquainted with a list of documents from the personal archives of Eugene Khlebtsevich that is stored in the collections of the National Library.
Also the students of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts attended the public lecture of Dr. Scott Carroll "Books before the Printing Press and the Work of Scribes" and took part in a discourse.
