On 3 April, a meeting of the Council of Belarusian libraries for Information Interaction took place in the Republican Scientific and Technical Library.


The meeting, chaired by Director of the National Library of Belarus R. Motulsky, attended by the heads of national and regional libraries, the Director of libraryof the Academy of Management under the President of the Republic of Belarus, the heads of the working groups of the Executive Committee of the Council.

The following issues were discussed:

  • Implementation of a corporate acquisition of databases for libraries in Belarus in 2014.
  • Work of the consortium LibKARD at the present stage.
  • Interaction of libraries who are members in a corporate cataloging system for the formation of the Union Electronic Catalog of Belarusian libraries.
  • Realization of the 23rd task "Creation of union electronic catalog of the Belarusian libraries on periodicals and special documents" as part of the program "Culture of Belarus" in 2013.
  • Work of the interdepartmental Library Board under the Ministry of Culture.
  • Changes in the members of the Council of Belarusian libraries for Information Interaction.

The work of the Council of Belarusian libraries for Information Interaction was estimated very high by those who presented the event.

Adam Shanyavsky and the library fund of the Nesvizh county school (the last quarter of the XVIII century)

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
