On 15 December, the library hosted a ceremonial donation of books to the Belarus Ministry of Internal Affairs Specialized Lyceum.

The young law enforcement officers were greeted by Roman Motulsky, the director of the National Library of Belarus and member of the public council at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. He expressed confidence that, regardless of professional choice and way of life, all the guys would become worthy citizens of the country.

"You have a whole life ahead of you, and life will set challenges for you. Unfortunately, it is not always clear and obvious what is black and what is white, and where is good and where is evil. Therefore, it is so important to form an internal cultural immunity, to comprehend the spiritual and moral foundations, which will become your guide and leading light in a difficult situation.”

”From time immemorial, the Ten Commandments of God serve as the main set of values for all mankind. As far back as 1517, our first printer Francysk Skaryna published the Bible in the Old Belarusian language in order to spread these truths among our people. This year we celebrate a significant event, the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book-printing. Surprisingly, the biblical spiritual values, prescribed in ancient times, remain relevant to this day and serve as the basis for relationships between people around the world,” Roman Motulsky said.

After the greetings, the library director donated a set of books to the Ministry of Internal Affairs Specialized Lyceum and presented them a gift catalog, The Book Heritage of Belarus.

Police Major Violetta Salodkaya, the museum director at the center for cultural and educational work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, expressed gratitude for organizing the event and presented to the cadets a set of books about the history of the armed forces of Belarus and other states.

After the event, the cadets visited the international project "Francysk Skaryna and his epoch” and got acquainted with valuable rare publications and the five-century history of the printing equipment development.
