On 5 May, a creative meeting with Belarusian writers living abroad “Our hearts are with our Motherland” was held at the art gallery “Labyrinth” (the National Library of Belarus).


Representatives of the Belarusian Diasporas in Ukraine, Georgia, Poland, Latvia and Lithuania took part in the event.

An exhibition of about 60 documents from the stocks of the National Library of Belarus dedicated to the history of Belarusian emigration and Belarusian emigrants opened within the framework of the meeting. The works of Belarusian poets and writers living abroad were on display, along with the books on the history of Belarusian emigration.

During the event the books of Belarusian emigrant poets and writers were presented as a gift to the National Library of Belarus.

Head of the Belarusian Cultural Center in Poland Aleksandr Karachun presented sets of the information bulletin issued by the Belarusian Center, books of Belarusian writers living in Poland, albums “Learn More about Belarus” and CDs with authentic Belarusian music.

April 18, 2024 marks the 210th anniversary of the birth of Yevstafiy Tyshkevich, a famous archaeologist, historian, ethnographer, local historian and museologist. His research has raised whole layers of the historical past, he was one of the first Belarusian authors of local lore. To mark the anniversary of the scientist, an exhibition "Connoisseur of Belarusian Antiquities" has been organized in the Book Museum of the National Library of Belarus.
