Such was the theme of a regional seminar for directors and heads of marketing departments of central libraries in Brest Region. The seminar was held at Pruzhany Regional Library on 28–29 April, 2011.
The event was prepared by the Cultural Administration of Brest Regional Executive Committee, M. Gorky Brest Regional Library and the Cultural Department of Pruzhany District Executive Committee.
On 28 April participants considered the questions of scientific and methodological support of Belarusian libraries’ activity. М.G. Pshybytko, Head of the Library Science Division of the National Library of Belarus delivered a report “Implementation of the system of scientific and methodological monitoring in Belarusian library science”. On the same day participants of the seminar visited Novosyolkovskaya, Mokrovskaya and Klepachskaya libraries in agricultural villages of Pruzhany District and learned about their experience.
On 29 April, a round table “Methodological activity of public libraries in Brest Region: general issues, regional experience and prospects” was held. Heads and specialists of libraries exchanged their experience and considered the urgent issues of libraries’ activity.
