On 22 January, at the library of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M. Tank (BGPU) there was held a seminar-presentation “Electronic information resources of the virtual reading room of the National Library of Belarus for university libraries”.


Director of the library Nadezhda Syatkovskaya made opening address to participants of the seminar.

Specialists of the National Library of Belarus Elena Snegireva, Oksana Rudkovskaya and Pavel Kalenteev acquainted participants of the seminar with resources of EBSCO, Grebennikon, EastView, IQlib, Gale: Biograhy in Context, Integrum and other databases available to subscribers of the Virtual reading room in 2014.

Public information resources interesting to research workers and students, databases created by the National Library of Belarus and other Belarusian libraries were also presented.

The event gathered about 25 participants.

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
