On February 11th–14th, the National Library took part in the ХХIІ Minsk International Book Fair which was held in the National exhibition center “BelExpo”.
On the first exhibition days the National Library presented three unique projects. The first is the facsimile edition Fracisk Skorina’s Book Heritage. The reedited heritage includes five books of the Belarusian first printer revived in the form of facsimile copies, with financial support of Belvneshekonombank.
The second is the photo album The Book Heritage of Belarus where for the first time the best samples of the national book heritage from the stocks of the National Library of Belarus are presented in great volume. The album is developed by employees of the library together with a team of the publishing house The Belarusian Encyclopedia named after Petrus Brovka.
The third project presented to guests of the book fair is the facsimile of the oldest book monument The Turov Gospel created by the National Library of Belarus and the company XEROX with the support of the library’s tutorial council. The facsimile edition is prepared with the observance of all features of the original owing to the use of up-to-date technology. Within the bounds of the book fair, the Ministry of Information rewarded the National Library with a special diploma and badge “The small golden volume” as the winner of the National contest “The art of book – 2015” in nomination “Spirituality”.
Also the National Library of Belarus received the Diploma of the ХХIІ Minsk international book fair “For an active participation and interesting exposition”.
At a special exhibition stand visitors could see a lot of printed and electronic documents prepared and published by the National Library of Belarus for last years.
