On 23 November, the presentation of S.M. Klimov’s monograph “Базилиане” (Basilians) was held at the National Library of Belarus.
By this research the author tried to fill up the gap in the history of Basilian monks in one of difficult periods of the Order of saint Basil the Great in the 70's of the 18th century – the 30's of the 19th century on the Grand Duchy of Lithuania lands. The researcher believes that this period is very important to understand the role which Basilians played during the whole their history in the Lithuanian-Belarusian society.
The study was within the framework of a scientific project made by Middle and East Europe University under the direction of professor Ezhi Klochkovsky (Poland).
The presentation carried out with speeches of monograph author, candidate of historical sciences, director of National Historical-Cultural Museum “Niesvizh” Sergei Klimov and academic secretary of the National Library of Belarus, author of the article about Basilians in the encyclopedia “Культура Беларуси” (The Culture of Belarus) Aleksandr Susha.
