On October 26–27, the Central District Library in Rogachev hosted the seminar "Trends in the development of the modern public library: realities and needs of society”.


The seminar providers are the main directorate of ideological work, culture and youth affairs of Gomel regional executive committee; Gomel Regional Universal Library named after V.I. Lenin; the department of ideological work, culture and youth affairs of Rogachev regional executive committee, and Rogachev Central District Library. The seminar was designed for heads of marketing departments of central libraries in Gomel region.

Welcoming remarks were made by Victoria Shevchenko, the chief specialist of the department of ideological work, culture and youth affairs of Rogachev regional executive committee; Marina Rafeeva, the director of Gomel Regional Universal Library, and Tatiana Golubeva, the director of Rogachev Central District Library.

Directors, heads of sections and chief specialists of central regional libraries presented reports.

A literary and visual exhibition "Looking for Joy" dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the birth of the Russian painter and representative of Russian impressionism Konstantin Korovin (1861–1939) is on show in the Fine Arts Reading Room (room 306) from December 3 to January 10.
