A presentation of the theoretical and practical collection "Local History Information Resources of Libraries: Working Together and Providing Quality" took place on October 22 in the framework of the 8th International Congress "Library as a Phenomenon of Culture".
Hence, one of the proposals in the resolution of the 7th International Congress "Library as a Phenomenon of Culture" (2020) has been realized.
"...prepare comparative tables of the UDC and LBC classes (according to the "Typical classification scheme for local history catalogues (card index) of the libraries of the Republic of Belarus" (Minsk, 1994)".
In addition to the aforementioned comparative tables, the collection contains useful methodological materials for libraries of the country to work with local history and country studies documents using the international system "Universal Decimal Classification" (UDC) in the Belarusian language.
The collection is meant for libraries, booksellers, information centres for document systematization, local history and country studies document collections organization and relevant information retrieval. The publication will also be useful for the training and continuing education system, seminars and relevant lecture courses.
