On September 20, a webinar was held on the topic "Augmented and virtual reality technologies in the local history activity of cultural institutions (libraries)".
The event was organized by the National Library of Belarus and the Central Children's Library named after Yaroslav the Wise (Yaroslavl, Russia).
The webinar was attended by the employees of the National Library of Belarus, the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus and the representatives of libraries of the Russian Federation.
Lyudmila Komarovskaya, the Head of the Department of excursion and methodological work, made a presentation on "The use of information technologies in the excursion activities of the National Library of Belarus" and told about the excursions "Animated Books", "My Blue-eyed Belarus" and the project "Virtual Tour 360".
The participants of the event shared the experience of innovative library practices in the field of AR and VR technologies, discussed some current projects in the field of information technology and their application in the activities of cultural institutions of Belarus and Russia in order to involve the younger generation in library local history and digital local history. At the end of the webinar, a master class on sand animation with augmented reality was held.
