Evdokia Shalupina was born in 1930 in Ukraine in the village of Kirikovka, Akhtyrsky District, Sumy Region, in a working-class family.
Eleven-year-old Evdokia graduated from three classes of Kirikovskaya school when the Great Patriotic War began. The years of occupation interrupted her studies. Evdokia and her mother moved to the city of Ahtyrka in 1948, where the girl graduated from high school. Then she entered the Kharkov Library Institute (now the Kharkov State Academy of Culture). In 1954, Evdokia Shalupina, a graduate of the institute, married and moved to the town of Russ, Volkovysk district of the Grodno region at the place of service of her husband. She began her professional career as head of the military unit library. In 1960, in connection with the demobilization of her husband, Evdokia moved to a permanent place of residence in the city of Minsk.
Her labour activity at the State Library of the BSSR named after V.I. Lenin (now the National Library of Belarus) began in 1961 when she was hired as a librarian in the book storage department. In this structural unit, she went all her further professional path.
Excellent knowledge and accumulated work experience allowed Evdokia Shalupina to head the group processing sector in 1978.
Colleagues recall her as an excellent specialist who knew her job, a principled and skilful leader who was able to clearly organize the coordinated work of the team.
The materials of the personal file indicate that back in 1983, during the certification, Evdokia Shalupina noted the advisability to create a periodicals reading room. More than 20 years have passed and the proposal was brought to life in the new building of the National Library of Belarus.
Evdokia Shalupina enjoyed great authority and respect not only among her colleagues but also among the library management. One of the evidence is that she became a member of a special tourist group of the Ministry of Culture of the BSSR for visiting the German Democratic Republic in 1981 and Finland in 1985.
For six years Evdokia Shalupina continued to work for the benefit of the library in her native department even in retirement.
Evdokia Sergeevna took part in the public life of the collective: she was elected a member of the national control, was a specialist in labour protection.
Shalupina's labour was repeatedly awarded: The Certificates of Honor of the Ministry of Culture of the BSSR and the BRC of trade unions of cultural workers, the badge "For excellent work", testimonials, etc. She was repeatedly entered on the Board of Honor of the library, she was awarded the title of "Best in Profession".
Evdokia Shalupina went on a well-deserved rest in 1992. She devoted the library for more than 30 years of her life.
The staff of the National Library of Belarus wholeheartedly congratulates Evdokia Shalupina on her anniversary and wishes her good health, longevity, good spirits and inexhaustible vitality!
