Raisa Kazyuchits was born in 1950 in the village of Ozertsy, Slutsk district, Minsk region.

An important role in the choice of the profession of young Raisa was played by her aunt - Anna Solodukha, who at that time worked as the head of the Loshansk rural library. She took notice and instilled in her niece's interest in librarianship. Immediately after graduating from high school, since September 1967, Raisa worked as the head of the Dolginovsky rural library of the Uzdensky district. A year later, she entered the library faculty of the Minsk State Pedagogical Institute named after M. Gorky (now - Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M. Tank).

As a student, Raisa actively mastered the basics of the profession, paid a lot of attention to practical exercises in the commitment of card indexes and carrying out bibliographic searches. In the last two years, she combined her studies with work at 0.5 rates in the library of the institute.

After graduating from the institute in 1972 and receiving the qualification "librarian-bibliographer of the highest qualifications", Raisa Kazyuchits was sent to work in the Library №4 named after. N.V. Gogol in Minsk, where she worked for six years as a Senior Librarian.

In December 1978, a new entry appeared in the workbook of Raisa Kazyuchits: the Senior Librarian of the Service Department of the State Library of the BSSR named after V.I. Lenin (now the National Library of Belarus). Extensive work experience (library experience at that time was more than 11 years) allowed her to take the position of Senior Librarian of the Scientific and Social Sciences Reading Room.

In 1980, in the Service Department of the State Library of the BSSR named after V.I. Lenin was allocated a Section of Mass Work. Raisa Kazyuchits became the head of this structural unit in March 1981 thanks to her qualification. She organized book exhibitions, views and reviews of literature, Specialist Days, thematic evenings and meetings with interesting people creatively, with great enthusiasm and dedication. All events organized by Raisa Kazyuchits, both inside the library and outside, have always passed with warmth and aroused a lively response from the participants.

She continued her professional career in the Department of Belarusian Literature after working for 9 years as the Head of the Section.

Raisa Kazyuchits was involved in organizing book exhibitions, keeping catalogues and card files, and performing bibliographic references. In addition, she studied the local history activities of the republic's libraries, provided them with methodological assistance, lectured on the history of the development of local history in the country and the local history work of libraries at advanced training courses for librarians at the Belarusian State Institute of Cultural Problems (now - the Institute for Advanced Studies and Retraining of Personnel of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts).

Raisa Kazyuchits reflected the results of the study and analysis of the local history work of the country's regional libraries in scientific and methodological publications. Raisa Kazyuchits revised the “Typical document classification scheme for local history catalogues (card files) of the Republic of Belarus”.

The colleagues from the Belarusian Literature Reading Room remember Raisa Kazyuchits with warmth and respect. They remember her as the life of the party, a very active person who takes part in all library activities.

Raisa Kazyuchits worked for almost 40 years at the National Library of Belarus. Already retired, due to the prevailing family circumstances, she moved to a permanent place of residence in Italy.

There she also leads an active lifestyle: she graduated from Italian language courses, performed in a local amateur theatre for emigrants, and is raising two granddaughters.

"Soldier's Fate": on the 100th anniversary of Vasil Bykov and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the People's writer of Belarus, publicist and screenwriter Vasil Vladimirovich Bykov.
On this occasion, the National Library has prepared an anniversary exhibition "Soldier's fate", which highlights the great influence on the work of the Belarusian writer of his participation in the Great Patriotic War.
