A series of events of the project “On the Waves of Time throughout Life” continue. It is being created by the National Library of Belarus together with the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature, the Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art and the “Maladost” magazine and is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the literary association “Maladnyak”.

On May 13 Anna Severinets, a literary critic, teacher, archivist and writer at the Museum of Belarusian Literature, reported on the life and work of one of the most talented poets of Belarusian literature of the 1920s, a member of the “Maladnyak” literary association since 1925, Pavlyuk (Pavel Adamovich) Trus (1904–1929).

On May 6 it was marked his 115th anniversary. There were showed the photos of Minsk from the 1920s, portraits of the “Maladnyak” writers. The attendees could listen to the music by Dunayevsky. The poet was a member of the student choir himself, an actor, staged plays, painted scenery, edited a wall newspaper, processed folklore-poetical materials for the composers N. Sokolovsky, G. Pukst, and others.

Only two of collections of his poems were published during his lifetime. His works are based on folklore.

Pavlyuk Trus died of typhoid in the late summer of 1929, he was only twenty-five years old. This is the first death in young Soviet literature left no one indifferent. The whole Minsk parted with him. Kupala, Kolas, Goretsky, Krapiva, Byadulya, Cherny, Glebka and other writers stood on the guard of honor. Many of his literary friends would be buried in the 1930s in a completely different way: without obituaries, guard of honor, orchestra and solemn speeches.

An exhibition of books and photographs by Pavlyuk Trus was prepared for the anniversary in the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature together with the National Library of Belarus.

More information about the life and creative way of the poet can be found in the article by A. Severinets, which will be published in the framework of the project in the issue N5 of the “Maladost” journal.
