From November 4th to December 28th, the thematic exhibition "Reconstruction of the Society: towards a Green Future” is being held in the hall of Periodicals (room 106).

Throughout the entire period of human existence, the life of the world community has been based on the principle of extracting maximum benefits from the available natural resources, which serve as a guarantee of economic stability of human life. However, today the demand for these resources exceeds the capacity of our planet to restore them.

The key to solving this problem lies in the concept of a closed-loop economy, a circular ("green") economy based on the reuse of natural resources over several cycles. The conceptual foundations of the introduction of circular economy are covered in publications from the journals “News of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus”, “Problems of Management”, “Proceedings of Belarussian State Technological University” and others.

Belarus is one of the countries that have a large ecological footprint, and the damage it causes to nature is quite significant. In this regard, additional measures are needed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, clean up wastewater from pollutants, etc. In addition, among the areas of development of the “green” economy, the following are relevant: the development of production and circulation of organic products, the creation of smart and energy-efficient cities, the further development of eco and agrotourism, the expansion of the use of electric transport, etc. Publications from the magazines “Live like a host”, “Energy Saving”, “Bank Bulletin”, “Science and Innovation” and others will tell about the implementation of these directions.

In total, the exhibition counts more than 30 periodicals.

The opening hours of the exhibition corresponds to the library’s opening hours.
Entrance to the exhibition is available by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural center.
