Anniversary book exhibition "A Look into Eternity", dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of the Belarusian scientist, literary critic Vladimir Mikhailovich Konon (1934–2011), takes place from April 23 to May 20 in the Belarusian Literature reading room (room 205).
Philosopher and historian, cultural critic and literary critic, professor, author of many interesting articles and monographs, Vladimir Konan is an iconic figure in the scientific and humanitarian space of Belarus. For the first time, he extensively developed the problems of the history of Belarusian aesthetics, deeply and thoroughly researched Belarusian art culture for a thousand years, from the tenth to the twentieth century. His works are known not only in our country, but also far beyond its borders.
The exhibition presents the main works of the scientist "The development of aesthetic thought in Belarus (1917–1934)", "Democratic aesthetics of Belarus (1905–1917)", "At the origins of self-knowledge: the formation of spiritual values in the light of folklore", "Aesthetic thought of Soviet Belarus: the main stages of formation and development", "Problems of art and aesthetics in the public thought of Belarus at the beginning of the twentieth century", "Adam Babareko: criticism-a biographical sketch", "Divine and Human wisdom: Francisk Skaryna: life, creativity, worldview", "The light of poetry and the shadows of life: Maxim Bogdanovich's lyrics", "Belarusian artistic culture of the Middle Ages and Renaissance", "History of aesthetic thought of Belarus" (vol. 1), etc.
Visitors of the exhibition can also get acquainted with many scientific reports of the author, journal articles, reviews, speeches on topics of literature, art, culture.
Vladimir Mikhailovich's activities as an editor and compiler are widely represented.
The exposition is complemented by materials about the life and work of the scientist, published in encyclopedic and periodicals.
