The opening of the art exhibition and the presentation of the collections of sonnets by Fiodar Jastrab "Abiacanne snoǔ" and "Viasiolkavy slied" took place in the Library on October 27.


Fiodar Adamavič Jastrab left a rich artistic legacy as a famous cultural worker, artist, art historian and talented poet. He participated in more than 110 international foreign, republican and group exhibitions, he is an author and curator of more than 70 large-scale art projects, held 12 personal exhibitions.

His artworks are a whole world, full of imaginative and semantic atmosphere, a wide palette of colors and shades. They have a bright individual style, national colors, attention to details, a deep connection with the Belarusian folk culture. The world of his paintings does not immediately disclose metamorphosis of lines, shapes, color accents, rich details, eloquence of nuances, hidden behind a monumental showiness or bright, attractive decorations of compositions. You gradually immerse in the depth of these various colorful stories after evaluating their figurativeness. The text and implications are intricately intertwined, the history and myth met, a romantic legend and reality of the objective world, the specifics of the pragmatic time and the allegory of the eternity.

Fiodar Jastrab left a rich art legacy not only as an artist but also as a talented poet. He wrote nearly a thousand sonnets. There were presented two collections of his sonnets "Abiacanne snoǔ" and "Viasiolkavy slied" at the event. The perfection and expression of thoughts and images, philosophical fullness of rhymes open for a reader a romantic but at the same time a very serious poet.

The most lyrical sonnets have already embodied in the melodious songs and sounded at the event performed by the soloist of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Halina Sakolnik, the student of the Belarusian State Academy of Music Kaciaryna Labkovič, the student of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts Dzmitry Bagdanovič.

A documentary exhibition devoted to the creative personality of the artist was opened for guests.

The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Barys Sviatloǔ, the chairman of the public association "Belarusian Union of Artists" Ryhor Sitnica, the director of the main direction of the international broadcasting Navum Halpiarovič, as well as well-known Belarusian artists and friends of Fiodar Jastrab attended the event.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.
