April 18, 2024 marks the 210th anniversary of the birth of Yevstafiy Tyshkevich, a famous archaeologist, historian, ethnographer, local historian and museologist. His research has raised whole layers of the historical past, he was one of the first Belarusian authors of local lore. To mark the anniversary of the scientist, an exhibition "Connoisseur of Belarusian Antiquities" has been organized in the Book Museum of the National Library of Belarus.
The ancient Tyshkevich family presented the Belarusian land with a number of famous public figures and scientists. Yevstafy Pievich Tyshkevich occupies an honorable place among them. Being originally from Logoysk, he became one of the founders of the Belarusian scientific archeology, the creator of the Logoysky Museum of Antiquities (1842–1855) and the Vilna Museum of Antiquities (1855), as well as the Vilna Archaeological Commission. Along with his scientific works, he wrote several works of fiction.
The exhibition presents lifetime editions of Yevstafiy Tyshkevich's works on history, ethnography, materials reflecting his activities in organizing a public museum, as well as autographed books and publications from his personal library. In addition, visitors to the exhibition will be able to see modern publications dedicated to the life and scientific activities of the famous researcher of antiquity.

The exhibition will be open from April 17– May 31 at the Book Museum (room 347).
The end date of the exhibition can be changed.
The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the opening hours of the Book Museum.
Entrance to the exhibition is available by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural center.
