From February 12, 2008, to February 29, 2008, in the Belarusian Literature Reading Room (room 205) is open a book exhibition “Human. Writer. Teacher” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Vladimir Domoshevich, the Belarusian writer, honoured cultural worker of Belarus, laureate of Ivan Melezh Literary Prize (1992).


Works by Vladimir Domoshevich are remarkable for a rich language, philosophical comprehension of the existence, social and psychological analysis of characters, situations, and conflicts. The writer creates not only the image of a contemporary, but also the image of the Present.  

The exhibition comprises over 80 publications and reveals various characters created by Vladimir Domoshevich and a literary portrait of the writer.  
In the section “Adjusting by the Life” are displayed publications by Vladimir Domoshevich: collected stories, documentary stories, essays, and a novel. The section acquaints visitors as well with works by the author published in periodicals.

Vladimir Domoshevich is not only a writer, but also editor and translator. In the section “In the Labyrinth of Human Life” are displayed works by Russian, Polish, Azerbaijan, Armenian, and other authors translated by Vladimir Domoshevich into Belarusian language. Among them – a novel by a Polish author E. Putramant “September” translated by Vladimir Domoshevich and Y.Misko into Belarusian language.  There are displayed as well works by Vladimir Domoshevich translated from Belarusian into Russian language.

The section “Circles of Life – Circles of Literature” acquaints visitors with materials dedicated to the writer’s life and career.
