The exhibition of first-printed editions “Initiated by Skaryna” runs at the Book Museum of the National Library of Belarus from September 1 up to November 30.


The exhibition is timed to the birthdays of the famous East-European first printers: the 520th birthday of Frantsisk Skaryna and the 500th birthday of Ivan Fyodorov.

The exhibition offers the unique first printed editions by Frantsisk Skaryna and Ivan Fyodorov. There are books by Frantsisk Skaryna “The Book of Job” (1517), “The Book of Kings” (1518) and “Ecclesiastes” (1518) edited in Prague, and the book by Ivan Fyodorov “Apostle” (1574) edited in Lvov. Ostrozhskaya Bible (1581), one of the best Cyrillic old printed editions of the XVI century, is displayed at the exhibition as well.

"On the paths of bright spring" by Pavlyuk Trus

On May 16, participants of the National Library of Belarus project "On the wave of time throughout life" visited the Uzden Central District Library named after Pavlyuk Trus, where they took part in the literary and musical festival "On the paths of bright spring.." dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the poet, member of the association "Maladnyak", native of Uzden region Pavlyuk Trus (1904-1929).
