Anniversary exhibition "On the Road of Light" dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Belarusian composer Alina Biezienson is on show in the Music and Audiovisual Documents Reading Room (room 305) from June 25 to July 21.

Alina Biezienson's work covers various genres: concerts for solo instruments with an orchestra, symphonic poems, cantatas, masses, chamber instrumental pieces for piano, domra, cymbals, violin and other instruments. A special focus in her work is on instrumental and vocal music for children, as well as choral and chamber vocal music: romances, songs, choirs, vocal and choral cycles, spiritual hymns.

Ms Biezienson's pieces are learned in music schools and colleges, they are included in the repertoire of soloists and collectives of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society, Belteleradiocompany, the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus, they sound at concert venues not only in our country but also in many other countries of the world.

The musical language of Alina Biezienson is full of lyricism, brightness and poetry of images, expressiveness of melodies, colourful palette of timbres and harmonies. Her pieces are emotional and expressive, they are permeated with the image of beauty and inner spiritual excitement. The composer's work is notable for the strong religious and philosophical content that deeply touches the hearts of listeners.

The exhibition is based on sheet music editions of Alina Biezienson's works: a concerto for accordion with a symphony orchestra "Coming Day", a concert for domra with a symphony orchestra "Insight", a multi-genre suite for piano "Thunderstorm", vocal cycles "We have forgotten how to listen to silence", "Moments", "Children's ditties", choral cycles "The Age of Youth", "Colours of Endless Movement", collections of choral and vocal works, repertoire collections on the class of domra, cymbals, saxophone, clarinet and others.

The audio documents presented at the exhibition give the opportunity to listen to the toccata for piano "Lost consonance", a concert trio for cello, piano and percussion, the poem "Euphrosyne", as well as songs "A girl, a rose flower", "White wings of love", "Dreams of a dream", "Guardian Angel", "Prayer" and many others.

Articles and periodicals about the life and work of the composer complement the exhibition.

The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the library’s opening hours.

The Belarusian Notary Chamber and the National Library of Belarus: keeping history together
