A subject exhibition "The best periodicals” runs at the National Library of Belarus (room 106) on 1-30 June, 2011.
For the seventh time, the VII National Contest of Printed Mass Media “The Golden Letter” winners and laureates award ceremony is held on the annual professional holiday – the Press Day.
The major task of the contest arranged by the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus is the all possible support to Belarusian printed mass media within the framework of the State information policy, improvement of professional and informal level of printed mass media, furtherance of creative activity of journalists and other mass media employees.
Printed mass media, news agencies and persons took part in the contest.
Periodicals-laureates of the contest are on display. The exhibits are arranged in groups and nominations. Well-known and popular Belarusian newspapers and magazines are among the winners.
The Grand Prix in nomination “The year’s best creative project of republican printed mass media and news agencies” has gone to newspapers “Byeloruskaya Voyennaya Gazeta. Vo Slavu Rodiny” (“The Belarusian Military Newspaper. For the Motherland’s Glory”) for the project “For the Motherland’s Glory – the 90th Anniversary”; “Kultura” (“The Culture”) for the project “The Return of Forgotten Names”; “Znamya Yunosti” (“The Youth’s Banner”) for the project “The Literary Room”. Prizes in nomination “The year’s best creative project of regional printed mass media and printed mass media published in large editions” has been awarded to editors of newspapers “Zarya” (“The Dawn”) for the project “The Letters of War”, “Minskaya Prauda” (“The Minsk Truth”) for the project “The Soldiers of Victory” and “Lyakhavitski Vesnik” (“The Lyakhovichi Bulletin”) for the project “Compatriots”.
The newspaper “Sovetskaya Byelorussija” and the magazine “Planeta” are leaders in nomination “The best social and political materials”.
Periodicals “Byelorusskaya Niva” (“The Belarusian Cornfield”), “Respublika” (“The Republic”), “Litaratura i Mastatstva” (“The Literature and Art”), “Byelaruskaya Dumka” (“The Belarusian Thought”), “Byelaruski Gistarychny Chasopis” (“The Belarusian Historical Magazine”), "Where Minsk” and others are among Laureates of the contests “The Golden Letter”.
