From October, 8th, to November, 30th, a book exhibition “The confession of a sincere heart” timed to the 70th birth anniversary of Belarusian writer Zinovy Prigodich runs in the Belarusian literature reading room (auditorium 205).
Documents on display tell in detail about the writer’s life and creative career. The first exposition section ”A road on the native land” is not casually named thus. Through his books the talented writer tells to the reader about his ways and thoughts, his interests and anxieties. On the bookshelves there are collections of verses, stories, essays and critical articles about Belarusian literature, including the author’s first book Добры дзень, сад! (Good Afternoon, Garden!, 1974), the story Журавы на Далёкай пойме (Cranes on the Faraway Flood-Lands, 1984), the author’s collections авторские Журба мая светлая (My Blessed Sorrow, 2002), Родник у лесных берез (The Spring near Wood Birches, 2011) etc.
The exhibition also includes Zinovy Prigodich’s book Постаці: З цэлым народам гутарку весці… (Personalities: Talking to the Whole People…, 2011) with 10 creative portraits of eminent figures of Belarusian literature. The reader will find in the book a number of little-known facts from their biographies, will learn fascinating histories and discover a lot of new and unexpected.
The exposition continues with the writer’s works published in collective collections and periodicals.
The last exhibition section ”Stop and look back … “ includes materials about the writer: encyclopedias, reference editions, collections Літаратурная карта Берасцейшчыны (A Literary Map of the Brest Region, 2008), На ладонях Припяти и Пины (On the Palms of Pripyat and Pina, 2004) and numerous magazines.
