The Belarusian Literature reading room (No 205) hosts the exhibition "The Miracle of a Life Word", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Viacheslav Petrovich Ragoisha, from June 2 to July 17.
V.P. Ragoisha's creative activity is so diverse that it is impossible to list all its spheres. Historian and literary theorist, literary critic, verse and translation expert, comparative scholar, textologist and publisher, archivist and bibliographer, author of works on poetics and poet himself, stylist and memoirist, local historian, TV host…
Viacheslav Petrovich has spent his entire career employed for the Belarusian State University. He continued to work as a teacher of Belarusian literature after earning his degree from the BSU's Faculty of Philology in 1963. After successfully defending his graduate and PhD dissertations, he joined the department as a professor and ultimately rose to the position of department chair.
The main areas of scientific activity of the researcher are: the history of Belarusian literature, the relationship of Belarusian, Ukrainian and Polish literature, textology. Ragoisha explores the poetics of a verse, issues of the theory of literary translation, problems of the literary process, etc. More than 800 scholarly publications have been published by Viacheslav Petrovich thus far.
Sections of the exhibition "In the orbit of time" and "The Word of the Word Connoisseur" reveal in detail the scientific and teaching activities of a talented literary critic. The exhibits include the books of V.P. Ragoisha: «Paetyka Maksima Tanka”, «Moj Tryglav”, «Desiat саг pra Karatkevicha», higher education aid «Belarusskae vershavanne», «Asnovy vershaznawstva», «Uvodiny w litaraturaznawstva», issued for more then once «Paetychny slownik», refenrence book «Versh. Paezia", a collection of poems "Polius tsiapla", a book of literary and critical articles, essays, dialogues "I adguknetstsa slova w slove...", a book of translated poetry "Vochy w vochy, mysli w mysli" and many others.
