From October 20th, 2009, to November 9th, 2009, in Belarusian literature reading room (room 205) is open a book exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Vladimir Novitsky, the Belarusian scientist and historian.


Doctor of historical sciences (1990), professor (1999) of the Institute of History of National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Vladimir Novitsky has passed a long way from the Komsomol and the Soviet Party worker to the professor and eminent scientist-historian who researches the Soviet period and the urgent issues of the modern political life in the country, history of the Belarusian culture and faiths in the ХIХ-ХХ centuries.

Over 120 materials systematized in three sections and revealing many-sided scientific activity of the scientist are displayed at the exhibition. Among them: publications of scientific papers by Vladimir Novitsky, materials of conferences, symposiums and sessions of scientists in which Vladimir Novitsky participated, reviews of scientific papers made by the author etc. A particular section of the exhibition is dedicated to Vladimir Novitsky’s life and research work.

The exhibition is illustrated with numerous pictures of Vladimir Novitsky.

"On the paths of bright spring" by Pavlyuk Trus

On May 16, participants of the National Library of Belarus project "On the wave of time throughout life" visited the Uzden Central District Library named after Pavlyuk Trus, where they took part in the literary and musical festival "On the paths of bright spring.." dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the poet, member of the association "Maladnyak", native of Uzden region Pavlyuk Trus (1904-1929).
