From 22 May to 13 June, an exhibition "The word breathed with a kind caress" dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Belarusian poet Vladimir Karizna runs in the Belarusian Literature Reading Room (room 205).


Laureate of the State Prize of Belarus (1996) Vladimir Karizna is one of the authors who has composed the National Anthem of the Republic of Belarus. He is a poet with his original way, place and destiny in the national culture. His works have their own sound, they enrich the people’s music, teach and accustom to the eternal values of life. A unique style, vividness and beauty of melody distinguish Karizna’s poems.

The first section of the exhibition "The melody of the soul" exhibits the author’s books: Kray moy sinyavoki (My land of blue colors) (1963), Zhuraulіny dosvіtak (The crane’s experience) (1969), Sviatlo lіunya (The light of downpour) (1972), Tseplynya (Affection) (1977), Tsіshynya barazny (The silence of a furrow) (1981 ), Shumyats verby... (The pussy-willows are making a noise) (1982), Muzyka u svetse (Music in the world) (1985), Raskolina na Zvone Svaboda (The split on the Bell of Freedom) (1986), Dushy razgukanay melodyya (The melody of a full of music soul) (1988), Azyory dabrynі (The lakes of kindness) (1995), Khvіlіna svyatla (The moment of light) (2000), Na azyorakh sinikh (On the blue colored lakes) (2000), Dolya Rusi nasha Belaya (The fate of Rus is our White) (2007) and others, as well as the works printed in periodicals and collections.

A separate section "The world is shinning with attraction beauty" presents books for children and shows that Vladimir Karizna is also a wonderful children’s poet.

About the poet’s multifaceted poetic work tells the section "By the master’s hand". It exhibits the works that show Karizna as a good editor, a compiler of books and a translator.

The section "The consonance of harmony" includes the poet’s poems which have been set to music. It presents the printed music and audio documents of such well known songs as Ya lyublu tsyabe, Belaya Rus (I love you, the Write Russia), Belarus may sіnyavokaya (My blue colored Belarus), Zhuravіnka (Cranberry), Pavertse, dzevankі (Believe me, girls), Salavey spyavae (The nightingale is singing) and others. Original melodiousness, brightness, sincerity, feelings, precision of thought and lyricism of his poetry have been attracting composers at all times. His works inspired A. Bogatyrev, Y. Semenyaka, I. Luchenok, V. Budnik, Y. Glebov, L. Zakhlevny, D. Smolsky, E. Zaritsky, E. Khanok, etc.

The last section "Life is a song" which in detail tells about Vladimir Karizna’s life and creative work.

The exhibition contains a lot of pictures andthe poet’s photographs.

"On the paths of bright spring" by Pavlyuk Trus

On May 16, participants of the National Library of Belarus project "On the wave of time throughout life" visited the Uzden Central District Library named after Pavlyuk Trus, where they took part in the literary and musical festival "On the paths of bright spring.." dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the poet, member of the association "Maladnyak", native of Uzden region Pavlyuk Trus (1904-1929).
