The thematic exhibition "Turning over the pages of history" runs in the periodicals reading room (106), from 3 May to 30 June.
Belarus... How sweet is the word and how beautiful the country itself is! The well-known Belarusian hospitality is a kind of guidebook, thanks to which our native land appears exactly as it really is. And these are numerous admirable architectural monuments, folklore and rites, and marvelous natural beauty. It is love to the native land, knowledge of its history, culture and traditions that is the basis for the growth of the spiritual culture of the whole society.
The exhibition presents publications about the historical sights of Belarusian cities and towns. Each place has its own charm, and articles from the magazines (Belaruski histaryčny časopis, Maladosc’, Planeta), and newspapers (Litaratura i mastactva, Komsomolskaya Pravda) will help the reader to learn more about the past of the country.
The history is not anonymous. This is a complex and contradictory phenomenon, in which not only peoples, but independent persons participate. Women were and still remain the integral and most important part of the Belarusian history, and to them are dedicated numerous publications in periodicals (Belaruskaja dumka, Belaja veža, Zviazda, Kultura, Krajaznaǔčaja hazeta etc).
The Great Patriotic War is still the burning theme for Belarus. The reader will discover some unknown pages of history with publications in the magazines Nauka i innovacii, Belarus, newspapers Respublika, Litaratura i mastactva and others.
About 40 periodicals are on display.
