The exhibition "The Russian Bach", timed to the 80th anniversary of the birth of Youri Boutsko, is held in the Music and Audiovisual documents reading room (room 305) from May 11 to June 11.

The Russian composer Youri Boutsko (1938-2015), one of the most meaningful, deep and significant composers of our time. For his original way of thinking and the power of talent in musical circles, he is called "The Russian Bach". He composed a lot of instrumental works, operas, choral music and music for children. He is one of the first representatives of the Russian religious revival, which began in the 60s. All the work of this author is permeated with love for the native culture, its traditions, deep philosophical understanding of life. Also, Youri Boutsko composed music for films, television and theater plays that had great success.

The main part of the exhibition presents the music sheets: the famous opera monologue "Diary of a Madman" based on the story with the same name by Nikolai Gogol, opera "White Nights" based on the story by Fyodor Dostoevsky, "Six Scenes" on Aleksandr Blok's verses from the poem "The Twelve", cantata No. 3 "Wedding Songs", symphony-recitative, symphony for string orchestra, symphony in four fragments, six pieces for piano "From the Diary", a vocal cycle "Loneliness" and numerous collections including the composer’s works.

At the exhibition there are the audio documents of the operas, symphony in four fragments, the play "Lamentation", as well as the music written by Youri Boutsko to the children's fairy tales: "Sivka-Burka", "The Story of Caliph Stork", "Dwarf Nose", etc.
There are also articles from books and periodicals with information about the work of the famous composer.

The exhibition represents more than 70 documents.

The opening hours of the exhibition corresponds to the library’s opening hours.
Entrance to the exhibition is available by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural center.

The quest tour "The road of the Great Victory"

On May 15, on the International Family Day, the National Library of Belarus was visited by members of the Belarusian Association of parents with many children in the Pervomaisky district of Minsk. They took part in the quest tour "The road of the Great Victory", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
