On March 28, the library hosted a presentation of the book-photo album Belarus-Lithuania: the Time of Rapprochement.
The organizers of the event are the National Library of Belarus and the Belovagroup Publishing House.
The author of the popular scientific publication is a well-known statesman and politician, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Finland in 2006–2014, Vladimir Drazhin.
The book, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Lithuania, reveals the common roots of the glorious, centuries-old history of the two states, showing the development of Belarusian-Lithuanian relations in various fields and highlighting the high potential and further prospects for bilateral relations.
During the presentation, the copies of the book with author's autograph were handed over to the National Library and guests of honor.
The event was attended by the Minister of Information of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Karlyukevich, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Belarus, Andrius Pulokas, the adviser on humanitarian issues of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Lithuania, Irina Zubko, the head of the Office of the Embassy of the Republic of Finland to the Republic of Belarus, Janne Heiskanen, the author Vladimir Drazhin, the director of the National Library of Belarus, Roman Motulsky, the academician-secretary of the department of humanities and arts of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Alexander Kovalenya, the first deputy chair of the Belarusian Union of Writers, Elena Stelmakh, and the board member of the Vilnius Higher Radio Electronics Command School, Vyacheslav Kostrov.
