“Books, my dear friends!”, an artistic event timed to the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book-printing, took place in the National Library, on 14 December.
A ceremonial meeting was organized by the Creative Women’s Club Spadarynya, which unites talented women-members of two non-governmental organizations, the Minsk city branch of the Union of Writers of Belarus and the Belarusian Union of Women. Created in 2015, since then the Spadarynya Club has prepared and hosted numerous artistic events, aimed at promoting Belarusian literature, culture, art and crafts. Monthly, the permanent members hold public meetings, always interesting and with unusual themes and ideas.
This time, the artistic event was focused on the main theme of the year 2017, the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book-printing. The meeting was attended by writers Mikhail Pozdnyakov, Naum Galperovich Anatoly Avrutin, Alexander Vashchenko. Valentina Polikanina, Alla Chernaya, Elizaveta Polees, Olga Shpakevich, Inna Frolova, Tatyana Zhilinskaya, Elena Mikhalenko and other members of the club presented their writing as well.
It was a real gift to the event attendees to visit the international project “Francysk Skaryna and his epoch”, where they were able to see unique exhibits and touch the world book heritage.
