Among the initiators of the Belarusian theatrical art and the founders of the Kupala Theatre, the actress, People's Artist of the BSSR and the USSR Lidiya Rzhetskaya (1899–1977) or "Mama Lida", as her colleagues affectionately called her, stands out. And indeed, Lidia Ivanovna was distinguished by caring for acting youth, kindness in communication, and a vivid stage embodiment of the images of peasants, mothers, and ordinary Belarusian women. Alzbeta from "Peacock" by Yanka Kupala, Kasparikha from "Nightingale" by Zmitrok Byaduli, Cleaning lady Aunt Katya from the play "Who Laughs Last" by Kondrat Krapiva, mother from "Batskayshchyna" by Kuzma Chorny, Anna Chikhnyuk from "Excuse Me, please" by Andrey Makayenka – just a small list of those wonderful roles that she left on the Kupala stage Lydia Rzhetskaya. At the exhibition in honor of the 125th anniversary of the birth of the actress, readers will be interested in memories of her, as well as valuable photographs of scenes from performances where Lidia Ivanovna once played.

"Sculpture is my life, what excites me in this reality, what I want to talk about and what I want to convey to people."

These words belong to the sculptor, master of monumental and decorative, easel, medallion and park plastics Valery Moguchy, who celebrates his 65th birthday on April 18. Valery Vladimirovich has lived in Vitebsk for many years, which he loves even now, because he considers this city special: majestic, metaphysical, mysterious... The master is the author of more than twenty monuments, busts and plaques installed in the northern capital of Belarus. The exhibition will remind visitors of the famous Vitebsk images and symbols embodied in the sculptures of Valery Moguchy. The most famous and favourite work of the master himself is "Vitebsk melody on a French violin" (1997), which perfectly decorates the courtyard of the Marc Chagall House Museum. At the exhibition, you can get acquainted with the little-known paintings and graphic works of Valery Moguchy, as well as discover the poetry of this multifaceted artist.

Ekaterina Sumareva, one of the most unusual artists of Belarus, celebrates her 45th birthday on April 22. The daughter of the famous artist, Honored Artist of Belarus, representative of realistic painting Vasily Sumarev, Ekaterina chose a completely different manner and way of self-expression in her work. She describes her abstract paintings as "subjective landscapes" that capture the artist's personal states and moods. At the exhibition dedicated to Ekaterina Sumareva's birthday, visitors will see the "City of the Sun", "Anatomy of Rain", "Glowing" and other works by the author, as well as learn about her original project “Reservuarium”, which combined water from different rivers, lakes and reservoirs of Belarus into one exceptional collection.

The famous "Neman" glass is one of the recognizable Belarusian brands, an object of pride, which is shown to the guests of Belarus. April 26 marks the 95th anniversary of the birth of Lyudmila Myagkova (1929–2022), a master of art glass, who worked as the chief artist of the Neman glass factory from 1973 to 1993. Visitors to the April exhibition will be pleased and evoke fond memories of images of famous "residents" of Soviet sections: decanters, dessert and compote devices, vases for flowers, wine glasses, festive sets created by Lyudmila Mikhailovna. At the same time, the thematic compositions of the master deserve attention: "Take care of the world!", "Wind", "Victory", "Architecture", "Fanfare" and others. A scientific review of Lyudmila Myagkova's work, the emergence of glassmaking in the Belarusian land, as well as the development of Belarusian art glass can be found in the books of art critic Maya Yanitskaya, a specialist in the field of decorative and applied arts of Belarus.
